White Rock Rowing changes lives by putting oars and opportunities in the hands of Dallas area youth by fostering teamwork and preparing our athletes for success in sport and in life.

OUR VALUES How we bring it to life:

Every day at White Rock Lake our mission comes to life - on and off the water. Quality programs, training, and facilities are all designed to prepare participants for success both in sport and in life. Teamwork, commitment, excellence, individual freedom, and accomplishment are all integral to the White Rock Rowing experience. We are proud to supply financial support for athletes who do not have access or means to participate in the sport.

Our facilities are historic structures on White Rock Lake in Dallas, TX, each painstakingly restored in partnership with the City of Dallas Park and Recreation Department. The multi-use facilities are designed for all Dallas residents to enjoy. The expansive Sam Leake Boathouse is home to our rowing and fitness programs. The Filter Building, a popular lakeside rental event venue, provides revenue to support White Rock Rowing’s youth and adaptive programs, as well as additional direct financial aid and scholarship. The original 1930’s White Rock Boathouse (nicknamed “The Boomerang”) is home to coaching launches, kayaks and paddling.

White Rock Rowing parent volunteers provide essential support for the athletes and coaching staff at both the boathouse and regatta venues. Organizing shelter, food, and beverages for a team of more than 80 rowers and coaches traveling to regattas is a huge endeavor – many hands make light work! The added bonus is that there is no better way to understand the sport, meet your rower’s teammates and families than by volunteering to help. White Rock Rowing is a non-profit organization and parent volunteers are vital to the success of our operations. Whatever your interest or skill set we have a place for you to get involved.

We hold parent meetings twice a year at the beginning of Fall and Spring season. This ensures that our parents are informed about program information, discover ways to be a part of the parent team, and have a chance to meet each other to provide needed support for the kids and coaching staff. Any additional meetings are held on an as needed basis.
